In an exciting collaboration, renowned beer manufacturer Budweiser has partnered with Zed Run to introduce tokenized Clydesdale draft horses in a virtual NFT-based horse racing and wagering game, catering to the growing trend of crypto gambling enthusiasts.

Expanding its crypto presence, Budweiser invested $120,000 in nonfungible token fan art and acquired the beer.eth domain name through the Ethereum Name Service back in August 2021.

Zed Run, founded by Virtually Human Studio in Sydney during early 2019, originally offered racing horse NFTs for $30 to $80 to mint. Today, these NFTs have become highly sought-after assets, exchanging for thousands of dollars on secondary markets. In April 2021, a single racehorse was sold for a staggering $125,000.

Under the partnership with Zed Run, Budweiser and the gaming company will launch a Budweiser-themed race track, Budweiser NFT passes, and prize pools for Bud-sponsored virtual horse races, with starting prizes amounting to $45,000. Additionally, three tiers of airdropped Clydesdale NFT skins will be introduced, enhancing the gaming experience in Zed Run.

About the Budweiser Clydesdale NFT in Zed Run

The Budweiser Clydesdales are well-known horses often used in company promotions and commercials. As a major sponsor of horse racing events globally, Budweiser has a rich association with these magnificent animals.

A total of 2,500 Budweiser Pass NFTs will be available for purchase for a maximum of 24 hours, exclusively to users aged 21 and over, starting on Fridays. Each NFT will be priced at $225, plus gas fees.

In July and September, Zed Run will host two Budweiser Racing Challenges with prize pools of $45,000 each. Furthermore, there will be a tournament in December offering a grand prize of $95,000, along with a year’s supply of Budweiser beer.

NFT holders will receive Clydesdale skin NFTs as airdrops in July, which can be used to customize their existing racehorse NFTs within the game. Additionally, they will receive Budweiser t-shirt wearables for their avatars in the Decentraland metaverse, where Zed Run’s virtual headquarters are situated.

The trio of horse racing skins NFTs includes 1,600 Classic Clydesdales, 800 Bud Bottle Clydesdales, and 100 Gold Clydesdales.

As a special bonus, after the tournaments conclude, participants who burn their Budweiser pass NFTs will be eligible for exclusive rewards, although the details remain undisclosed.

Spencer Gordon, vice president of consumer connections at AB InBev, Budweiser’s beer producer, expressed excitement about this initiative, emphasizing the brand’s commitment to innovation by leveraging new technologies like NFTs to create unforgettable experiences for fans.

Zed Run’s Diverse Offerings

Beyond the Budweiser collaboration, Zed Run offers a range of features for crypto gambling enthusiasts. Users can place bets on virtual races, trade NFTs, and even breed new tokenized racehorses by mating stallions or colts with fillies and mares.

To facilitate its continued growth, Zed Run secured $20 million worth of Series A funding in July 2021, with backing from Red Beard Ventures and crypto venture capital giant Andreessen Horowitz.
