xQc Acknowledged That Streaming Gambling Content on Twitch Was “Wrong”

Home » xQc Acknowledged That Streaming Gambling Content on Twitch Was “Wrong”

In response to the prohibition on illegal gambling content on the Amazon-owned streaming service, well-known Twitch streamer xQc tried to preserve face by acknowledging that what he was doing was wrong but remaining steadfast in his opinion.

Why was xQc streaming illegal gambling content?

In a recent stream, xQc, one of the platform’s biggest supporters of streaming gambling material with over $500,000,000 wagered while streaming, attempted to retract his earlier statements without actually doing so by acknowledging that what he had been doing was “bad.”

He was eager to point out that he would not change his mind about the matter, in contrast to other streamers who would do so when they frequently received criticism from their audience for acting in an improper manner.

Additionally, xQc made comments during his stream about other well-known streamers who had already expressed their belief that gambling-related content on Twitch is bad for viewers, claiming that they were only doing so to win over the public rather than expressing their true opinions.

He did not identify anyone, but it was clear that he was alluding to individuals who had publicly criticized him, such as Pokimane, on whom he had previously spoken, questioning whether she was against gambling content or simply wary of being exposed for wrongdoing.

People were heavily criticism xQc on Twitch

Drake and xQc were two streamers who jumped on the Twitch gambling bandwagon to promote cryptocurrency gambling earlier in the month. Pokimane made an appearance on the H3 podcast hosted by Ethan Klein and Hila Klein and criticized them harshly for acting like they had no idea where the money for their sponsorships of cryptocurrency gambling came from.

Pokimane was one of the most recent broadcasters to call for Twitch to outlaw gambling, and she was quickly followed by Matthew “Mizkif” Rinaudo, who denounced gambling material on the network because of its negative effects on streamers and viewers. Mizkif’s response was sparked by the revelation that Sliker, another well-known Twitch streamer, had turned to defrauding his audience in order to fund his gambling addiction.

Twitch ultimately weighed in on the contentious argument, and just a few days ago the platform opted to outlaw unlicensed gambling content. This was yet another setback for xQc, who had previously stated that Twitch would never outlaw cryptocurrency gambling on the network.
